David Energy is reimagining how homeowners use energy. With Smart Charging and a seamless app, users can control their devices, cut costs, and use cleaner power—without needing to be an expert.
Project brief
Empowering homeowners with a single platform to manage their smart devices for maximum savings and efficiency.
Challenge
Smart homes are getting smarter—but also more fragmented. Each brand works in its own silo, leaving homeowners juggling multiple apps and missing chances to save.The goal: create one trusted platform to manage everything efficiently and intelligently.
My Role
As Product Designer, I helped define the app’s foundation—structuring the information architecture and designing the MVP from scratch.
The Solution: A Trusted Energy Advisor
We built an intuitive, central hub that connects all devices and makes energy decisions automatically and efficiently. The app translates complex data into simple actions and real savings.
Seamless Setup
Our onboarding guides users through connecting providers like Tesla and Volkswagen with clear steps and instant verification. In minutes, their entire home is online and ready.
Smart Charging, Smarter Homes
At the heart of the app, Smart Charging optimizes EV charging based on real-time energy prices—charging when power is cheapest and cleanest.
the impact
A More Efficient, Reliable, & Powerful Home
62%
of David Energy's EV customers now use the app for smart charging, up from a 23% pre-launch baseline.
The simplified onboarding flow reduced support requests, while the transparent design built user trust and confidence in the system.
Homeowners now save more money, use cleaner energy, and feel genuinely in control of how their home consumes power — transforming fragmented tech into a cohesive, intelligent ecosystem.
